ASC is proud to welcome Pearl Audio Video in Portland Oregon to our dealer network. Pearl is the highest of the high end dealers in Portland, and the sole area distributor for McIntosh gear. They had a particularly tricky issue, because their store is located in a brand new building with residential condos above. The demo rooms had to sound great, yet be extremely soundproof when customers wanted to turn up the volume.

They did the right thing and contacted ASC's dealer coordinator, Michael Adams, BEFORE starting construction. It was quickly determined that ASC should engineer a custom soundproofing plan to ensure compliance with city codes. With that, Arthur Noxon went to work and came up with a unique variant of ASC's IsoDamp that relies on vibrational damping and vented walls, as well as resilient channel.

The HVAC system also required In-line Mufflers to prevent sound leakage through the collective venting of the building. All this had to be done in compliance with city building codes as well as the building's management.

Finally, room acoustics had to be incorporated to handle the high power audio, and to maximize the articulation of the high end gear in a number of demo rooms. ASC worked with owner John Loranger and manager Devin Dahlgren to get everything just right, even showing up for the Grand Opening for the final tweak session.

The result has been nothing short of fantastic, and there's no doubt that the attention to acoustic detail has paid off in increased sales for John and Devin.
